“We saw corporations and individuals make donations,” said Lindner. “We saw small businesses engage with their customers, asking for their support. We saw fundraising events happening throughout the city. We are so inspired by the generosity of this community.” The fund connected over 14,000 people from all 50 U.S. states and 17 countries throughout the world, raising over $5 million. A committee was quickly formed to determine next steps and ways to distribute the money.
