They will prevent nuisance tripping of drives or circuit breakers in most applications. 5% impedance reactors are best for reducing harmonic currents and frequencies. Use them when you must reduce VFD drive generated harmonics, and to reduce motor operating temperature, or to reduce motor noise. *The effective impedance of the reactor changes with actual RMS current. A 5% impedance reactor becomes 3% if its current is reduced to 60%. Note: The recommended reactor selections above are based on fundamental current ratings.
