Since different adapter types are used for different purposes, the following information is helpful in determining which adapter is best suited for your application. Adapter Types Explained Pigtail Adapters connect between the RV inlet and the female end of a cord. The locking ring on the female end of the adapter provides a watertight seal between the inlet and the adapter. Pigtail adapters contain power indicator LEDs to ensure power is flowing through the adapter. ParkPower, pg 19. Weekender, pg 29. One-Piece Twist-Lock Adapters also connect between the RV inlet and the female end of a cord. They are identical to pigtail adapters in function, but are not recommended for use in wet locations since they do contain locking rings. Pigtail Adapters Connect between an inlet and a power cord to resolve power incompatibility issues.
