WAUKESHA COUNTY BUSINESS ALLIANCE, INC. | WAUKESHA.ORG 18 When everything came to a screeching halt earlier this year, schools quickly “went digital” as teachers, administrators and students switched to virtual learning. While the transition required an enormous amount of effort – from schools, students and parents – there were a few silver linings. The business community stepped up to support virtual learning and schools found touching ways to honor graduating seniors. Schools are now in the process of determining what the 2020-21 school year will look like. Regardless of the format, the Alliance is committed to providing business education partnerships, career exposure and connections to industry, just like we’ve done for years. In June, the Alliance hosted a virtual roundtable discussion with Career and Technical Education (CTE) coordinators from area schools and we continue to talk regularly with superintendents and presidents. As schools ramp up for the fall, the Alliance will be a partner in delivering business education programming – whether in person, virtually, or a combination. This summer, the Alliance caught up with several of our K-12 education partners to learn about the highlights, challenges, and lessons learned from the last few months. In this article: 1.
